Sexual Harassment at work in the #MeToo Era

Women in Listed Derivatives is presenting an interactive and informative workshop on Sexual Harassment at work in the #MeToo Era. This event will be conducted by Jennifer Schoen Gilbert of Stowell & Friedman, Ltd., a law firm dedicated to defending employees' civil rights including against sexual harassment. The workshop will provide an open ended discussion and practical tips and tools for employees. The workshop is open to all and is designed to elicit discussion on this important topic. A networking reception will follow.

The issue of sexual harassment is getting some much-needed attention this year as big names are being called to answer for bad behavior. But it isn’t always an outrageous act that triggers a sexual harassment claim in the workplace.  A 2016 Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) report found that sexual harassment remains a persistent problem in the office. The #MeToo movement has ignited a powerful dialogue about sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other forms of misogyny in the workplace. While many employees are emboldened by the movement, it remains difficult to confront the situation without the fear of facing retaliation. All men and women deserve to work in an environment that they feel safe and secure in, and that starts with cracking down on sexual harassment in the workplace.

Join the discussion and RSVP TODAY.

Women Empowered - Yes! Navigating Power Dynamics

Please join Women's Leadership Lab and WILD in FIA's Expo Learning Lab on October 18th and explore the framework of Relational and Goal Oriented Power Dynamics and learn how to effectively integrate both for maximum impact.

Gender power dynamics are rapidly shifting. Is it still true that there is an inverse relationship between power and likeability for women? Balancing our changing expectations of power with society’s unconscious assumptions and perceptions of powerful women has become more complex. Determining how we step into our power in hierarchical organizations while maintaining (and being rewarded for) our skills of collaboration and relationship building is a crucial challenge.

Mark you calendar and see you there!
