A new Saturday ride for members who are intimidated at riding on the open roads and for those who work during the week but would really like to participate with other AABTS riders in an environment friendly to novice cyclists. This ride starts from Kensington Metropark where riders may enjoy riding slower without having to share the road with cars. First ride Saturday, 5/13/17, and continues until the end of October.
Ride along the paved Hike-Bike Trail (8.5 miles per loop) or roads along the Kensington circuit. Multiple loops or fewer miles for new riders.

West River Trail Bike Ride (Jun 4 (Sun) Dexter)

Hudson Mills Metropark, 8801 N. Territorial Rd., Dexter. Join us for an easy 15-mile pedal on the West River Trail along the Huron River. This is a beautiful paved trail surrounded by trees, wildflowers, and meadows.  The trail runs along the west bank of the Huron River, and ends (with our turn-around point) at Dexter-Huron Metropark. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! For anyone interested, we will have lunch at a local restaurant after our ride.

The ride starts in Dexter at Jeffords St. between Alpine St and Forrest St, overlooking the start of the B2B trail. (Behind the Marathon gas station.)

The ride has two groups. An A/B:25 mile ride and a C:13-16 mile ride. Both rides use the B2B Trail to Hudson Mills. (No cars!)

Join us for an evening's ride through Island Lake State Rec Area and around Kensington MetroPark every Wednesday through October. We start in the upper lot of the East boat launch in Kensington MetroPark. Rides are generally 15-40 miles depending on weather and the group's stamina. We may also ride a loop into Milford. Occasionally will start the rides in South Lyon; but will meet the main group at the park. Kensington MetroPark is at  â€‹I-96 & Kent Lake Road.

Project Hero Honor Ride

Single Day Event

Project Hero Honor Rides are popular single-day, non-competitive cycling events held throughout the nation that let the public ride alongside our Healing Heroes.  Injured veterans ride for free and the rides are designed for all skill levels.

Location: Start/Finish:  Evanston Subaru
                                     GPS Address:  3340 Oakkton Street, Skokie, IL
Event Schedule: 6:45AM-Rider check-in & day-of registration begins
                            7:30AM-Pre-ride ceremony begins
                            8:00AM-Ride begins for all routes
Route Options:  18 miles
                           36 miles
                           50 miles
All routes are subject to change.  Final queue sheets will be available event morning.  All courses are open to all cycling skill levels, have fully supported rest stops and SAG support.

Registration Information:  Registration for all routes is $65.  Online registration closes at 8PM, Friday, June 9th. Day-of registration is $75 and is available beginning at 6:45AM.

Parking will be available in lots adjacent to Evanston Subaru and in the back of the Evanston Subaru lots.  Follow signs and directors to designated areas.

With your registration you get a finishers medal which you will pick up at the event after the ride.  Drinks and snacks will be available before the ride.  After the ride, enjoy a festival-like atmosphere that includes lunch and music.

The ride has two groups. An A/B:25 mile ride and a C:13-16 mile ride. Both rides use the B2B Trail to Hudson Mills. (No cars!)

The ride starts in Dexter at Jeffords St. between Alpine St and Forrest St, overlooking the start of the B2B trail. (Behind the Marathon gas station.)

The ride has two groups. An A/B:25 mile ride and a C:13-16 mile ride. Both rides use the B2B Trail to Hudson Mills. (No cars!)

Join us for an evening's ride through Island Lake State Rec Area and around Kensington MetroPark every Wednesday through October. We start in the upper lot of the East boat launch in Kensington MetroPark. Rides are generally 15-40 miles depending on weather and the group's stamina. We may also ride a loop into Milford. Occasionally will start the rides in South Lyon; but will meet the main group at the park. Kensington MetroPark is at  â€‹I-96 & Kent Lake Road.

9:00 am (April-May) Jackson County Ride Enjoy some of our favorite roads when traffic is low. Ride the area from Brooklyn to Leslie including Grass Lake, Munith and Napoleon.

Ride starts at the parking lot across for Cavanaugh Lake.  Ride will vary each week.
