Description:
Ever wanted to see a brand new, state of the art wastewater treatment facility? This facility is one of the most advanced in the western United States, utilizing tertiary processes that blend in and benefit the nearby community. The Northern Treatment Plant serves over 300,000 people, and has the capacity to treat 25 million gallons of wastewater per day. In addition to providing wastewater treatment for a portion of the Metro District’s northeast service area and protecting the South Platte River, the Northern Treatment Plant Facilities also provides opportunities for public recreation and education. Tour requires walking outdoors so wear comfortable, closed toe walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.  Photo ID is required for site access.
