JTAC Presentation
Energy $aving Management $trategies
Thursday, March 23rd, 2017
Description:
Every facility uses power ‐ lots of it. Understanding the power supplier's billing, terms and methods can help you make educated decisions on optimizing usage to reduce operating costs. To provide the best service for your public, understanding Purchased Power Agreements that suppliers use for utility wholesale power purchases, peaking generation nomination and dispatch, and the impact to customer rate classes are crucial to make good decisions. Net‐Metering, Supply‐Side and Demand‐Side Load Management, Energy Efficiency and Voltage Reduction programs are integral to optimum cost control. This presentation will discuss the basic structure of rate schedules specific in Colorado for commercial customers, the tools for assessing historical load profile, load duration, and load factor and how these tools can be used to manage the cost of electric energy.
