Speaker Bio Steve Hassmann, General Manager, Drilling & Completions, Mid-Continent Business Unit
Steve is currently General Manager, Mid-Continent Business Unit located in Houston. He has been in this position since January 2018. In this role, he leads the drilling, completion and well intervention teams across the business unit. This includes a focus on health, environment and safety along with engineering and operations execution. Prior to this assignment, he was General Manager, Organizational Capability Drilling & Completions, and Drilling & Completions Manager in two other business units for Chevron.
Steve received his bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas. He joined Chevron in 1990 as a production engineer and since then has held positions in Angola, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, and multiple locations in the United States during his Chevron career.

For the last 29 years, his investment banking advisory practice has focused exclusively on the energy services and equipment sector. Prior to joining the firm in 1990, Charlton worked in the Middle East as a field engineer for Schlumberger.
Charlton holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford University, where he was awarded an open scholarship, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. Charlton serves on the investment committee of Simmons Private Equity, a Europe-focused energy private equity firm, and the board of Making It Better, a non-profit that delivers remedial reading intervention to kids up to third grade in Houston schools.
