Join PESA for a webinar with King & Spalding on Thursday, April 2 at 10 a.m. CST. addressing how to survive the COVID-19 downturn and thrive in the backside. This webinar will survey the initial reactions of companies and lenders in different sectors of the industry to the recent volatility in commodity prices, followed by a discussion of certain effective short- and long-term strategies that are being used to navigate through the crisis and manage financial distress.
Attendees will be able to submit questions anonymously during presentation. Following the presentation, the team will be available to respond on a confidential basis to any questions submitted via email.

Marcella Burke is a partner in the Houston office of King & Spalding focused on high stakes environmental and regulatory matters, including onshore, on the outer continental shelf and in Alaska. Her practice focuses on environmental enforcement and crisis response, decommissioning and end of asset life issues, and regulatory counseling across energy sectors. Marcella served at the U.S. Department of Interior as Deputy Solicitor for Energy and Natural Resources, and Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. She also served as Deputy General Counsel of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Pete Hays is a partner in the Houston office of King & Spalding specializing in oil and gas transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and commercial contracts. He was born and raised in New Mexico just north of the Permian Basin. He has been very excited to witness and participate in the region’s economic growth over the past ten years, and would very much like to do his part to help the success story continue.
Matt Warren is a finance partner at King & Spalding and focuses on advising both companies and lenders on finance and restructuring matters, with a particular emphasis on both in-court and out-of-court energy restructurings. He has spent his career advising companies in distressed credit scenarios, including default planning and response strategies. He has been recognized by Chambers USA 2019 and the publication Turnarounds & Workouts named him a 2018 Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer. Mr. Warren is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and teaches as an adjunct professor of Bankruptcy Law. He regularly speaks and writes on bankruptcy topics.
