JackJack Belcher, Principal
Cornerstone

Jack Belcher joined Cornerstone in 2019 with over 30 years of experience in energy and energy policy. As a principal, he provides strategic and tactical advice to energy and transportation companies and financial institutions, focusing on government relations, regulatory affairs, public policy, strategic communications, situational risk management, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance. Jack also serves as managing director of the National Ocean Policy Coalition. Jack has served as executive vice president of HBW Resources, LLC, regulatory affairs and policy manager for Shell North America’s Exploration & Production Division, and staff director for the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. Jack also previously worked for the Independent Petroleum Association of America, Hart Energy Publications, and Texaco Gas Marketing Inc. Jack holds a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. He is certified by the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).

Mike Spaniol, Assurance Director, ESG 
PwC

Michael Spaniol is a Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ national ESG practice, with over 16 years of experience in directing audit engagements of public and private companies in the energy industry. Michael has been responsible for serving a variety of energy clients, dealing with issues in midstream commodity transportation and storage, oil and natural gas production, and downstream refining and distribution. He has an in-depth understanding of the SEC registration process and has assisted multiple clients with the initial public offerings as well as equity and debt transactions. As part of the ESG Practice focused on the energy, utilities, and mining sector, Michael works closely with clients to assist in their ESG process and controls design strategy and reporting considerations. He has experience in sustainability-related attestation services in relation to key performance indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, diversity & inclusion and health and safety. He is also an FSA credential holder issued by the SASB. Michael served the PwC Energy practice in Houston Texas from 2005 to 2012. He transferred to Denver, Colorado in 2012 and to San Antonio, Texas in July 2019. Additionally, he has instructed multiple sessions of PwC’s annual national Oil and Gas training, Petroleum Academy. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants - San Antonio Chapter.

DanDaniel Romito, Partner, ESG Strategy & Implementation
Pickering Energy Partners

Dan Romito’s career has focused on capital markets technology solutions, investor analytics, and ESG implementation. He has advised several hundred private and public companies spanning across regions, market caps, and sectors on how to optimize and implement ESG-related directives within their respective corporate strategies. His experience and research on the capital markets, particularly ESG,  Index/ETF Ownership, and Shareholder Activism, have been featured in a variety of global periodicals, including Harvard Business Review, CNBC, Bloomberg, Global Investor Magazine, and IR Magazine. He is also a board member on the Energy ESG Council and is an adjunct professor at Marquette University, where he teaches ESG implementation, strategy, and certification.
