This event is open to members and non-members.

Event Date:5/25/2022
Event Time:2:30 PM - 3:30 PM Central

Pay equity is a well-documented, well-researched, and persistent problem – and it has become even more acute in recent months as companies have been forced to pay higher wages to attract new talent, often times creating pay equity imbalances in the workplace. Designing and auditing fair pay practices are steps organizations everywhere can take to create more equitable workplaces.

In this webinar, Christian Antkowiak, Shareholder and Co-Chair, Labor Employment Benefits & Immigration Section, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, will provide an overview of these issues and discuss steps you can take now to set and check for fair pay practices.

This event is open to members and non-members.

Christian co-chairs Buchanan’s Labor, Employment, Benefits and Immigration (LEBI) section, which is widely recognized as one of the largest and most respected within full-service law firms. Along with colleagues in this group, The Best Lawyers in America® – a peer reviewed publication recognizing only the top 5% of lawyers in private practice – has selected Christian for inclusion in each of its editions since 2020 under the Employment Law – Management Litigation – Labor and Employment categories.

Christian’s individual contribution to the practice of labor and employment law lies primarily in representing clients nationwide in complex litigation, for which he has built a reputation as a premier class and collective action litigator.  He also counsels numerous clients on topics such as wage and hour law, FMLA and ADA accommodation, FCRA compliance, separations of employment and restrictive covenants.  In this capacity, he serves as their de facto general counsel.

Recently, Christian successfully concluded litigation for, among others: energy industry clients in Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia in various wage and hour collective actions; healthcare clients in the South and across the Midwest in various EEO discrimination and retaliation matters; national and international retailers involving compliance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and other public accommodation issues; and direct broadcast satellite and related service providers in arbitrations before JAMS and the AAA.

Christian is a frequent lecturer on various employment topics at conferences across the country, a contributing author to nationally-renowned publication such as the American Bar Association Fair Labor Standards Act treatise, and is regularly quoted in the popular press and business publications on trends in labor and employment law.
