Join the Energy Workforce Middle East Chapter for its annual meeting on November 2 with speakers addressing collaboration between the operators and service suppliers, and MENA region-specific issues during ADIPEC. Thomas Bruns, Regional Senior Commercial Officer for the Gulf and Commercial Counselor
U.S. Embassy in the UAE

Mr. Thomas Bruns is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and currently the Regional Senior Commercial Officer for the Gulf and Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi. In this role, he oversees four Commercial Office operations in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait and a partnership post in Oman. He also helps coordinate Commerce activities in the Gulf across agencies, include the International Trade Administration, the Bureau of Industry and Security and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has held this position since July 2018. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Bruns was the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. His previous posts also include Senior Commercial Officer in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Deputy Senior Commercial Officer in Ankara, Turkey. Mr. Bruns also served for one year in Washington D.C. in the Office of Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia as a Senior Trade Specialist. Prior to joining the Commerce Department and the Commercial Service in 2008, Mr. Bruns led teams in the construction sector as a Regional Director and Sales Executive managing 20 Hilti stores, coordinating direct and indirect sales in impact zones in the Paris and northern regions of France. Mr. Bruns is a graduate of the University of Virginia and received an MBA with distinction, the top academic rating, from Thunderbird, the School of International Management.

Latifa Aal Said, DEI Director & HR Director TPS MENATI and Global Services Sales
Baker Hughes
Latifa has over 13 years of experience in Human Resources in the oil & gas industry. She started her career in Oman with Schlumberger in 2006 and held various HR positions in Oman, UAE, Syria, Kuwait and the United Kingdom. She joined Baker Hughes in 2018 as the Oilfield Equipment Regional HR Leader based in Dubai where she worked on driving organizational change. She is currently the Development Programs HR director for Baker Hughes where she works on designing and structuring the talent development programmes for the company in contemporary ways. Latifa has a B.Sc. in Management information Systems from Melbourne University Australia. 


Christine Belanger, Senior Director, Rewards, Performance & Workforce Effectiveness
Mubadala Health

Christine Belanger brings 21 years of international Human Resources experience within the Banking, Engineering, Governmental, Healthcare and Private Sectors. Christine holds a BA in Psychology from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada), a BSc in Psychoeducation (Educational Psychologist) from Montreal University and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from HEC Business School (Montreal, Canada).  She is a Certified Coach, a Chartered Professional in Human Resources of Canada (CPHR) and a Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD (FCIPD). Christine is currently working for Mubadala Health as their Senior Director, Rewards, Performance & Workforce Effectiveness. Outside of work, Christine has been a Board member for the Canadian Business Council and American Community School of Abu Dhabi and is currently serving as a member of the Remuneration Committee for the National Catering Company LLC. She shares her knowledge and expertise through different HR conferences and events as a speaker and panellist. On a volunteering basis, she provides career coaching & mentoring as well as mentors university graduates as they are ready to start their professional journey.

ianIan Norton, Operations Director
Cummins Arabia

Ian Norton is the Operations Director for Cummins Arabia in the UAE and Kuwait, responsible for the Aftermarket, Service, Remanufacturing, Engine Sales, Aftermarket Supply Chain and Quality Organizations. He also leads the HSE Organization for Cummins Arabia. Ian has been with Cummins for more than 20 years, having lived and worked in South Africa, New Zealand, the UK and the UAE. He started his career as a Field Engineer and progressed through the ranks having experience and leading organizations in Service Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, HSE and Sales covering all of Cummins segments including Marine, Power Generation, Mining, Construction, Defense, Oil & Gas, Rail and Automotive.
