Dates and times: Nov.18, 20, 24 and Dec 1, 2025
Description:
This class will provide hands on instruction for students who wish to advance their throwing and shaping techniques to make larger and taller forms. Participants should be able to throw using up to 3 pounds of clay, prior to taking this class. Highly recommend completion of Wheel 1 and Wheel 2 or have equivalent skills.
Participants will learn:
- Using specific hand positions and tools
- Techniques for shaping forms
- Using increasing amounts of clay to throw (3 lbs and greater)
- Trimming a foot
- Pulling mug handles
- Using griffin grip
- Using different surface treatments
- Other skills as determined by instructor
Upon completion participants should be able to make medium sized vases and bowls.
