Event Description
Join us for November's Lunch and Learn to hear from our 2025 Dr. George Giacumakis Innovation Award recipient - Dr. Caleb Marsh - and his colleagues Chris Bare - Program Lead Instructor; Rickey Roten - Director of Customized Training at WCC; Becky Greer -Director of Workforce Development for Ashe County at WCC;  Kendra Belvins - Site Training Leader at GE Aerospace; and Perrin Banks - Program Graduate & GE Employee as they share their work to create an incredible public/private partnership with to build a customized pre-hire and post-hire training curriculum to quickly fill GE Aerospace's manufacturing needs.

Caleb Marsh serves as the Dean of the Ashe Campus at Wilkes Community College, a role he has proudly held since August of 2022. He is honored to be addressing the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators (NABCA), where he has been a dedicated member for the past year.

A native of Northwest North Carolina, Caleb has deep roots in the community he now serves. He grew up just two miles from his current residence in Deep Gap, NC, and holds a strong affinity for the region and its people.

Caleb's career in higher education spans over sixteen years within the community college sector. His extensive experience includes advancing through roles such as Lecturer, full-time faculty, Department Chair, Interim Dean for Math and Science, and Director of a Center for Academic Excellence. He has also taken on system-wide leadership, serving as the North Carolina Guided Pathways for Success Network Improvement Community Leader (NCGPS-NICL) and the Reinforced Instruction for Student Excellence (RISE) Subject Matter Expert for Mathematics for the North Carolina Community College System.

Caleb's formal education includes an Associate's Degree from CCC&TI, a Bachelor's (Statistics) and Master's (Mathematics) Credential from Appalachian State University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Old Dominion University through their Community College Leadership program.

Motivated most by the people he serves, Caleb strives to create an environment that provides abundant opportunities for students to grow, supports faculty innovation, and solidifies the community college's role as an essential community partner.
