Description:
Participants will create large vase. The intent is to texturize part of it, and learn to work with large slab construction. Focus will be on structure and learning seam binding for a large piece. Firing will be on your own, but glazing, staining and finishing will be discussed during class.
Participants will learn:
- techniques for using texture
- proper slip and binding for seams, various seam options will be explored
- how to manage large slab construction to avoid cracking and warping
Materials:
Number of Sessions: Two three-hour sessions

- Clay of choice (more than one, if desired
- Basic clay tools
- Texture tools if you have them (additional texture tools available in the studio and provided by instructor)
- Skill Level/Pre-requisites: Intermediate
- Minimum/Maximum Participants 3 Minimum, 8 Maximum
