Event Description

The 80-hour curriculum includes standards for urban and extended care situations. Special topics include wound management and infection, realigning fractures and dislocations, improvised splinting techniques, patient monitoring and long term management problems, up-to-date information on all environmental emergencies, plus advice on drug therapies. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments in Radford, VA 1/6 - 1/14/18.

Details
The WFR course is designed to provide you with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. Emphasis is placed on prevention and decision-making, not the memorization of lists. Half of your time will be spent completing practical skills, case studies and scenarios designed to challenge your decision making abilities. Adult CPR is included in this course.

Cost:
$ 775.00 - Tuition Only
$15 Day for three meals and snacks
$15 Day for lodging in needed Camping or Cabin options

Lodging/Camping:
Lodging, Full Course $135 This will be cabin bunks with no more than 4 to a cabin. Bring your sleeping bag and pillow.
 
Transportation:
 FREE shuttle pickup and return to the airport if needed from Roanoke, VA
