Webinar
‘A Directors Role in Organizational Finance- Relationships, Reporting, and Requirements’ is the first of a two-part webinar series sponsored by the Michigan Downtown Association (MDA) to highlight best practices regarding Downtown Development Authority (DDA) reporting and accounting. Our presenters will discuss the benefits of a downtown management organization working closely with the municipality’s treasurer and how to cultivate the relationship. We will hear from the two perspectives and discover how the departments can collaborate to ensure mandatory DDA reporting is accurate and timely. As partnerships can take time to grow, we will hear how a downtown director can effectively complete the tasks in the interim. Downtown accounting practices will also be presented including the basics of budget sheets and Modified Accrual Basis, an accounting practice typically used by municipal agencies. Our presenters will answer attendee questions regarding best practices and the webinar will be recorded.
Susie Stec, Planning & Economic Development Director, Village of Beverly Hills
Chris Weber, Treasurer, City of Farmington
