Join the Energy Workforce Supply Chain Committee for its annual conference focusing on driving efficiencies across functions to optimize supply chain performance on September 19. 


The Supply Chain Conference will feature a general session with discussions from operators on engagement with their suppliers and analysis of current supply chain challenges and opportunities in the energy services and technology sector. After lunch, breakout sessions will cover legal topics, ESG, DEI, workforce development and international trade, with thematic deep dives in these areas hosted by each of the Energy Workforce committees. The legal breakout session will qualify for an hour CLE credit and attendees may opt to only attend that breakout session.

Andrew Baird
Associate General Counsel, Compliance Officer, Enerflex

Mr. Baird has had a lengthy career in Compliance, spending 15 years at General Electric in their Capital, Security and Oil & Gas business.  Mr. Baird also spent time as the Global Ombudsman at Baker Hughes where he managed compliance investigations. Mr. Baird graduated with distinction from Emory University School of Law in 1994.

Nigel is a Managing Director and the Go-to-Market leader for Deloitte’s Sustainability 360™ offering. In this role, he helps organizations establish a sustainable approach to their sustainability strategies through methodologies and solutions focused on ESG data management, stakeholder engagement, and supplier enablement. Nigel also specializes in ecosystem and value chain integration to enable companies to enhance their visibility, connectivity, and ability to sense and respond to emerging risks and opportunities. Prior to his current role, Nigel served as the lead for Deloitte’s Industrial Marketplace offering and the Innovation Architect for the new Deloitte Greenhouse®, Powered by Energy and Industrials. Before joining Deloitte, Nigel was a member of Hess' global supply chain leadership team, managed a broad portfolio of categories and suppliers for Shell, and flew for the US Air Force and NATO for nine years.


Galen Dunk
Business Development Manager, SW, Veryable

Galen joined Veryable in 2019 and is currently Regional Business Development Manager focused on multi-market  partnerships, business acquisition strategy, and partnership retention. He has also served as General Manager of the Houston office responsible for operational growth strategy and execution, as well as customer success.
Prior to Veryable, Galen spent 10 years in the energy sector. He specialized in supply chain, manufacturing and distribution of oilfield and downstream products, and primarily focused on operational improvements, customer retention and higher profit realization. Galen received a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from Texas State University. 

Ian Falik 
Vice President, Energy & Power Investment Banking, Piper Sandler

Ian Falik is a vice president in the energy & power investment banking group at Piper Sandler.  He has primarily focused his career in the energy services, equipment and power sectors.  Prior to his role at Piper Sandler, Ian worked at Evercore and at Schlumberger as a special projects coordinator, directional driller and M/LWD engineer in multiple locations globally. Ian holds a MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.


Micah Garrison
VP Supply Chain Management, Patterson-UTI

Micah completed his service in the US Army Infantry in 2005, after serving in Germany, Kosovo, Texas, and two tours of duty in Iraq. He gained oilfield technical skills working offshore for Schlumberger in the Gulf of Mexico and abroad, followed by experience at Weatherford in sales and operations management roles while completing his undergraduate studies in Space Sciences. He entered the Supply Chain discipline at Talisman Energy, and later Repsol, eventually leading the Global SCM team for Drilling and Completions in Houston, Texas and Madrid, Spain. Following his time at Repsol he joined Venture Global LNG to help build its nascent Supply Chain and transition to operations, and from there returned to his OFS roots to lead the SCM function at Patterson-UTI Energy. Micah attained his MBA from the University of Houston in 2015, and remains active in various volunteer and advisory roles at the Bauer School of Business.

Vice President Energy & Transportation, Caterpillar, Inc.

Craig leads Strategy and Corporate Development for Caterpillar’s Energy & Transportation (E&T), the $22 B (2022) segment at Caterpillar that provides the world power, solutions, and services across vast industries. He is in his 35th year with the company, moving through technical, product, sales and marketing, operations, and distribution roles of increasing responsibility into general management. Today, Craig has responsibility for long-range strategy, strategic collaborations, supply agreements and alliances, and investments – seed, venture capital, mergers & acquisitions – as a member of the Executive Office, reporting to the Group President. Before moving into broader Energy & Transportation in 2017, Craig held senior leadership roles in Caterpillar’s Oil & Gas business, including leading the Digital and Technology business; and, serving as Managing Director for the business in Eurasia, Europe, Africa & the Middle East. Before his twelve years in Oil & Gas, Craig held leadership roles in the Electric Power, Industrial, On-highway, and Marine businesses, all within E&T. He has resided in the United States, Egypt, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Craig serves on Boards of several globally based companies where Caterpillar is invested. He is a member of the Energy Workforce and Technology Association and is on the Advisory Board and a past Executive Board member and Membership Chair. He holds two degrees from Eastern Illinois University; a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business, majoring in Finance and Marketing. He completed the Caterpillar Leadership Program in 2005 and the University of Chicago Advanced Management Program (EMBA) in 2012.



Lana Muranovic
Partner, BakerHostetler

Lana Muranovic counsels U.S. and foreign companies regarding a wide scope of international trade matters and currently serves as co-leader of BakerHostetler’s Aerospace and Defense Industry team. She has extensive experience related to U.S. import and export controls, sanctions, anti-bribery laws and regulations and foreign investment. Among other matters, Lana generally assists clients with compliance, export jurisdiction and classification issues, licensing determinations, voluntary and mandatory submissions, regulatory disclosures, the design and implementation of export and import compliance programs and enforcement actions. She conducts audits and internal investigations of existing international trade compliance procedures, and has done so as both outside counsel and a seconded in-house compliance attorney. Lana also drafts, advises and trains corporate clients on the design and practical implementation of corporate compliance procedures and processes. In addition to serving as the firmwide co-chair of BakerHostetler’s Aerospace and Defense Industry team, Lana is a member of the Houston office's Diversity Group and its Lateral Hiring Committee. She has also shared her knowledge as a guest lecturer in International Trade Compliance at the South Texas College of Law.


Carolina Ortega
VP of Sustainability, Milestone Environmental Services

Carolina oversees all aspects of ESG data collection and reporting, including both mandatory and voluntary disclosures. She is responsible for the development and communication of the company’s proven environmental and sustainability strategy and will champion Milestone’s sustainability programs to all stakeholders, including C-suite officers, industry leaders, and boards of directors. Carolina has more than 20 years of experience developing corporate-wide sustainability strategies in a variety of industries. Her expertise also includes climate change, social and environmental risk management, human rights impact assessments, stakeholder engagement planning, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) investor and rater engagement, sustainability reporting, social and environmental performance management systems, and risk assessment for new-country entries.Carolina earned her bachelor’s degree from Smith College, a Graduate Certificate from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University.

Charles Reed
Vice President, Corporate Compliance, Flex

Mr. Reed has served as vice president for corporate compliance since February 2022. In this role, he leads world-wide management of Flex’s corporate compliance, internal investigations and anticorruption programs. Mr. Reed joined Flex’s compliance department as senior corporate counsel leading the company’s investigations function in 2019. From 2012 to 2018, Mr. Reed served in a variety of compliance and litigation roles at the former Hewlett-Packard Company and its spinoffs Hewlett Packard Enterprise and DXC Technology, including leading the companies’ internal investigations and overseeing responses to government inquiries. From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Reed was a prosecutor with the Fraud Section, Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Previously, Mr. Reed was a litigator in the Washington, D.C. office of Hughes, Hubbard & Reed, LLP and the Wilmington, Delaware law firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell in Wilmington Delaware. Mr. Reed graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College with a B.A. in history in 1997. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 2001. Mr. Reed is a member of the New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania and District of Columbia bars and practices in California as registered in house counsel.


Chris Richardson
Partner, White & Case

Christopher Richardson is a global energy and infrastructure projects lawyer the Houston office of White & Case, which he helped to found in 2018. He serves as Head of the Firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Project and Asset Finance Regional Section for the Americas. Chris focuses his practice on project development and project finance, strategic joint ventures and investments, acquisitions and divestitures, contract disputes, corporate governance, and commercial contracts in the oil & gas, oilfield services, LNG, petrochemicals/chemicals, basic materials, electric power, infrastructure, renewable energy and energy transition sectors on a worldwide basis. Prior to joining White & Case, he served as the General Counsel of Mubadala Petroleum in Abu Dhabi and also worked in Hong Kong. Chris received a J.D. at University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. at Tulane University

Gabriel Rio
President & Chief Executive Officer, Milestone Environmental Services

Gabriel has over a decade of experience in the oil and gas environmental services industry. He is currently the President and CEO of Milestone Environmental Services and Milestone Carbon. Prior to leading Milestone, Gabriel worked as an Operating Partner with Intervale Capital, now known as Amberjack Capital, an oilfield-focused private equity fund with $1.2 billion in assets under management, and a key investor in Milestone. He was previously the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for R360 Environmental Solutions, Inc., a national provider of environmental services to the E&P industry. Prior to R360's formation in 2010, he was an investment professional with Three Cities Research, Inc., a mid-market private equity firm, where he was principally responsible for US Liquids of LA, LP, a regional oilfield waste treatment and disposal provider in Louisiana and Texas. Gabriel holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also is an elected member of the Advisory Board of the Energy Workforce & Technology Council (EWTC) and the Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) Board of Directors.

Managing Director, Energy Investment Banking, JP Morgan

Ryan Tull is a Managing Director in J.P. Morgan’s Energy Investment Banking group and has more than 25 years of broad energy industry experience. Ryan joined J.P. Morgan in 2019 as Head of Oilfield Services and Infrastructure after 15 years at Credit Suisse where he was Head of Oilfield Services. His career includes significant lead transaction responsibilities having provided clients with a broad suite of strategic and financial advisory services. Ryan has a B.A. in Economics and Managerial Studies and an MBA from Rice University.

 


Dave Warnick
Partner & Chief People Officer, ChasmBridge

Dave Warnick has over 30 years of global human resources experience working at the executive level with large multinational industrial companies. Throughout his career, he has completed over 12 merger and acquisition projects while leading the integration of all human resources initiatives worldwide. Dave has spent most of his career traveling and working internationally and lived with his family in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He has expertise in strategy alignment, employee value proposition development, executive leadership development, organization design and development, human resources optimization, HR shared services implementations, human capital management systems implementations (including Workday) global compensation, benefits and policy alignment, culture development, executive compensation design and next-generation talent pipeline development.

Brian Van Burkleo is an experienced and accomplished professional with over 16 years of sales, operations and manufacturing management experience within the oil & gas sector. His career began in 2007 when he joined National Oilwell Varco, becoming a key member of the team for 10 years and assuming positions of increasing responsibility around the world. In 2017, Brian joined voestalpine Specialty Metals where he currently assumes the dual roles of Vice President for North America and Global Executive Director.  His responsibilities encompass the development of strategic advancements for its global oil and gas business division, alongside overseeing profit and loss accountability for the North American region. Within this capacity, Brian adeptly manages all day-to-day commercial and operational activities. 



Victor Zavala
Global Supply Chain Director, HESS

Victor Zavala is a distinguished Supply Chain Executive with a proven track record of success in leading and developing high-performing commercial teams. Currently serving as the Global Supply Chain Director at HESS, Victor brings a wealth of expertise and experience to his role. Prior to this position, he amassed an impressive 18-year tenure at BHP, where he honed his skills and demonstrated his proficiency in optimizing supply chain operations.
