Event Name:
Non-Profit SIG - Metrics for Mission

Event Type(s):
Special Interest Group Event

Description:

Topic:  “Metrics for Mission”

Outcomes Measurement: Are You Delivering Mission Impact?
The traditional approach to measuring non-profit effectiveness has focused solely on the efficiency of program delivery, rather than program results. A decade ago, watchdog agencies such as Charity Navigator introduced metrics to measure and rate charities based upon their financial health, accountability and transparency. But funders want more -they want to understand the impact of their donations, not just how efficiently they were used.
This session will provide a baseline understanding of the traditional Charity Navigator metrics for financial health, accountability and transparency, and then dive into the more difficult goal of ‘Outcomes Measurement' which encourages organizations to shift their focus from what they are doing to how they have impacted change.

Objectives:
During this discussion, participants will:
  • Learn how Charity Navigator ratings work, and the importance of tracking the ratios which will impact your organization’s score and rating.
  • Understand the importance of using KPI dashboards tracking key efficiency metrics which will impact your Charity Navigator score.
  • Learn how to take the next step and move beyond efficiency ratios to Outcomes Measurement which can better focus your organization on mission achievement to produce better outcomes for your constituents and funders

Who will benefit?
CPA’s, controllers, CFO’s, Non-Profit Executive Directors, Non-profit Board members and staff.

There are free public parking spaces about two blocks away at The Durant Center and at Jefferson Houston School.

There are free public parking spaces between the Durant Center and the public swimming pool and also behind Jefferson Houston Elementary School at 1501 Cameron Street.
