Overview:
This presentation will focus on aspects of gift tax return preparation that are often mishandled, including gift splitting, reporting valuation discounts and satisfying the adequate disclosure requirements, gifts to qualified tuition programs, where to report gifts to various trusts on Schedule A, the how and why of GST elections and estate tax inclusion periods, and the use of formula clauses. The presentation will use real examples of Forms 709 that will serve as a valuable resource throughout tax preparation season.
