PENNSYLVANIA CHILD CARE ASSOCIATION - Event Information - PENNSYLVANIA CHILD CARE ASSOCIATION

Event Name:
8/21/2019 Evening -- Advocacy: Engaging Parents & Others

Description:

Parent constituents are key components in ECE. Parents can help raise the bar on quality child care by getting involved and letting local and national leaders know that quality child care is important to them and to their community. By engaging parents, we help draw political attention to the needs of children and families, build a strong network, and bring to the legislature compelling stories from a first-person perspective, the parents, the experts!

On a federal and state level, we are frequently asked by legislators, “Where are the parents?” We know they exist, we know their stories by heart, but we need to successfully link parents to their legislators on behalf of early childhood education. By joining together, parents and child care providers, like you, can make quality child care a reality for all families.

In this webinar, you will learn how to provide parents with the tools, information, and activities to build awareness about and, ultimately, help to support and advocate for high-quality child care in Pennsylvania.
