Description:
An annual event honoring the legacy of Dr. Pamela C. Williams, prior Executive Vice Dean of the School of Medicine. This year's speaker is Kim Johnson, M.D., Senior Director, African-American Health Equity Initiative (AA HEI) at Susan G. Komen. Dr. Williams will discuss:
  • Factors that contribute to breast cancer disparities among African-American women;
  • The components of the Collective Impact Model - which addresses complex social issues through cross-sector collaboration to create community and systems change;
  • The scientific basis for the African-American initiative and how Susan G. Komen is using the Collective Impact approach to develop the AA HEI;
  • Identify next steps for the project interventions.
Luncheon follows presentation.
