The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division is pleased to announce that our first annual International Chili Cook-Off will take place on April 19, 2020 at Shed 5 in Detroit's Eastern Market! If you've got a renowned chili recipe, we would love for you to enter the contest! All competitors must join the International Chili Society and abide by the contestant rules to compete.
Don’t’ miss this event for the whole family! Enjoy chili sampling and a cold drink while listening to live music. We will be joined by our emcee, Rachael Hunter of 99.5 WYCD, from 1:30-3:30! Tickets are available for purchase, $10 per adult and $5 per child 12 and under. The proceeds of the Chili Cook-Off will go to The Salvation Army Outdoors program. The Salvation Army Outdoors initiative provides opportunities for kids of all ages to learn new skills, explore creation, and experience exciting adventures. ALL CONTESTANTS must prepare two gallons of People’s Choice chili (PC).
*Contestants may prepare three gallons of People’s Choice chili (PC) to waive entry fee in ONE category.
*Contestants may prepare four gallons of People’s Choice chili (PC) to waive entry fee in ALL categories.

Chili tasting will be open to the public from 1 to 4 pm, and The Salvation Army will be serving free hot dogs to complement the chili tasting!
