Michigan Academic Library Association - Event Information

Event Name:
Open Licenses for Open Educational Resources

Event Type(s):
Interest Group Meetings/Events

Description:

The definition of open educational resources (OER) includes the phrase “reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions,” but what does that really mean?

Joshua Neds-Fox, Wayne State University Coordinator for Digital Publishing, leads this webinar which will use Creative Commons licenses as a model for discovering what open licensing means for content creators or copyright holders, and how open licensing complements and supports copyright.

This webinar is appropriate for students, instructors, instructional designers, librarians -- any member of a campus community - who creates content and would like an introduction to open licensing.
