San Diego Bands to Compete in June 15 Battle of the Bands, With Winner Playing at Fat Tire’s Tour de Fat on July 8

How Bands Win: Attendees will receive one voting token for each New Belgium beer they purchase at the Battle of the Bands. The band with the most tokens at the end of the night will play the Tour de Fat San Diego stop. Each token represents a $1 donation and proceeds from the evening will be split evenly between San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and San Diego Mountain Bike Association.


“The Battle of the Bands is a new element we’re looking forward to,” said New Belgium Tour de Fat Brand Manager, Sam Sawyer. “In San Diego, attendees will receive a voting token for each New Belgium beer they purchase at the Battle of the Bands. The band with the most tokens at the end of the night gets to play at Tour de Fat and we’ll split the proceeds evenly between our two non-profit partners, San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and San Diego Mountain Bike Association.”
