The Money Museum at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank
1 Memorial Dr., Kansas City, MO 64198.
A 30-minute guided educational tour of the museum will be provided. A valid state issued ID is required to enter the museum.
Parking: The Money Museum is located within the Crown Center District and is walking distance from the National WWI Museum at Liberty Memorial and Union Station. Money Museum guests can park in the visitor parking lot located on the west side of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City building.
Workshop Objectives:
Intended Audience: Parents, teachers of the visually impaired, orientation & mobility specialist, speech-language pathologists, OT, PT, classroom teachers, special educators or other service providers with a student who has Cortical Visual Impairment.
Priorities will be given to families, educators or service providers serving students with Deafblindness.

- Learn how to use The What’s the Complexity Framework to guide the educational team in designing an accessible, appropriate school day for the child with CVI.
- Learn about the CVI Characteristics (Roman-Lantzy) in depth, with particular emphasis on complexity and its relationship to the other characteristics.
- Understand how the CVI Characteristics (Roman-Lantzy) manifest later in The Range, with an emphasis on late Phase II and Phase III.
- Describe how CVI affects behavior
- Understand the primary barriers to visual access for children with CVI.
- Describe how CVI affects access to literacy and communication.
- Guide the team in selecting appropriate visual learning and communication media
- Identify appropriate educational tasks for the child with CVI
- Determine appropriate learning environments for a child with CVI
- Determine the appropriate balance between the complexity levels of the environment and the task.
