Position Title:  Water Filtration Superintendent - Madisonville, KY

Position Description: 
The qualified candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operation of the City of Madisonville Membrane Filtration Plant and its employees. All employees are expected to work safely. Each employee has environment, safety, and health, responsibilities. The employee is required to participate in achieving compliance in our City of Madisonville policies including, but not limited to, emergency preparedness and response, efficiently servicing and maintaining a variety of process systems equipment and overall plant infrastructure. Occasional travel may be required to attend training classes, special meetings, conferences, or events.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of pumps, electrical systems, control systems, and computer systems
• Experience with chemical treatment and filtration systems
• Ability to read and interpret underground utility drawings, architectural and mechanical drawings
• Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple projects and tasks. Acute attention to details
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with preventative maintenance management software
• Experience with communicating and interfacing with various regulatory agencies
• Familiar with SCADA systems and PLC controls
• Prepares and presents budget preparation and administration; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for staff, equipment, supplies, and materials; assists in monitoring and controlling expenditures;
• Interfaces closely with laboratory and plant maintenance personnel to optimize filtration processes;
• Reviews monthly state operator reports
• Directs the development and achievement of the City's water quality and treatment standards and goals.
• Through subordinate supervisors, directs and oversees development and implementation of water quality plans and programs to ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, and other state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Directs the delivery and tracking of mandated certification programs, specialized skills training and mandated safety policy and procedures training.
• Knowledge of Membrane Modules.

Education/Experience/Skills Required: 
• Water Treatment Class IV issued by the State Board
• Valid KY Driver’s License
• 8 years of progressively responsible experience in the operations water system, at least 2 of which were supervisory, is preferred.
• Experience in a municipality or water agency is preferred.
• Preferred graduation from a 4-yr accredited college or university with a major related to water technology, public administration, business administration or closely related field; however, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be applied.
