Position Title: 
Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory Technician

Position Description: 
The Tullahoma Utilities Authority operates a 5 mgd federally permitted wastewater treatment plant that utilizes an on-site modern laboratory to perform permit required and operational tests. Successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of laboratory operations at the TUA Wastewater Treatment Plant, performed in compliance with federal and state regulations. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 
• Duties include performing tests, sampling, procurement of supplies, quality control, and maintenance of records; all in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Obtain and retain operator certification from the state of Tennessee
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education/Experience/Skills Required: 
• BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other related field is highly desirable. An Associate’s Degree in similar majors will also be considered. 
• Successful applicant must have strong laboratory, math, and organizational skills. 
• Strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physically strenuous indoor and outdoor tasks. 
• Certified operators are encouraged to apply. 
• Follow TUA Policies, Rules and Regulations as written.
• To qualify, applicants must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and live (or be willing to relocate) within a 20-minute drive of the TUA service center. 
• Successful applicant will be expected to obtain certification from the State of Tennessee 
as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator 

Salary: 
Hourly salary will be based on education, experience, and certifications.
