Position Description: 
BGMU is recruiting for Water/Wastewater Systems Manager. This management role requires technical and engineering knowledge of water and wastewater system operations and practices. Minimum requirements include:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field dealing with water and wastewater treatment.
Ten (10) years of water and wastewater treatment experience. 
Warren County, KY residency is required within six (6) months of employment.

Duties/Responsibilities: 
Ensure that adequate staffing and properly experienced and qualified individuals serve within the respective departments.
Ensure that ongoing programs, testing procedures, treatment procedures, etc. are carried out within accepted industry-wide standards.
Direct and supervise the construction, maintenance, operations and engineering of the water and wastewater system, constantly reviewing the system for efficiency and to ensure reliable service.
Direct and approve the overall activities of the operations and engineering departments and exercises individual judgment, initiative and originality to ensure maximum efficiency and effective management of personnel, equipment and materials. 
Develop strong culture of communication and teamwork within division and overall utility. 
Review methods and procedures and makes or recommends changes where applicable.
Prepare the Division’s construction and operations budget.
Coordinate with the Safety Director to plan and direct the Water/Wastewater Division’s safety program.
Consult with management team on company policies and procedures.
Work closely with customer service and public relations personnel to address customer needs and inform the public on water and wastewater issues.
Insure operating and engineering departments have the proper tools, vehicles and other equipment that is needed to do their jobs safely and effectively.
Secure resources necessary to effectively restore water and wastewater services following a severe weather event.
Periodically report to the Bowling Green City Commission relative to information dealing with the water and wastewater operations.
Make presentations to the BGMU Board of Directors, support General Manager in making presentations and informing Board on pertinent issues.
Actively engage with regulatory agencies to establish strong working relationships, address new regulations and emerging contaminants, assist in developing regulatory policy to the extent possible.
Actively engage with KY-TN AWWA, Water Professionals of KY-TN, NACWA and other professional organizations to network with other utilities on management and emerging issues.   
Additional work and/or training outside normal work hours may be required.
This position reports to the General Manager. 

Education/Experience/Skills Required: 
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field dealing with water and wastewater treatment.
Ten (10) years of water and wastewater treatment experience.
