- We are looking for a full time teacher who is passionate about working in a developing program. We have a position open in our preschool program which serves children ages 3.5-5 years old.
All clearances and health assessments are required. Experience working with age group, and a relevant degree in Early Childhood is required. An Associates in ECE is required.
Teachers are responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program for children. Our teachers nurture children, provide strong and compassionate classroom management and support a play based, Reggio Emilia inspired program. Applicants should be flexible, open minded, excited to work in a collaborative setting, and willing to participate actively in redefining some of our practices. Our community is vibrant, diverse, creative, and not
your average daycare setting. You must be explicitly interested in and passionate about working with the age group you are applying to work with. Hours are 8:30-4:30.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Involvement in development of our current program
● Communication with parents and guardians
● Capacity to work in a teaching team with other teachers and Directors
● Develop activities that engage children’s interests, document learning, and create a pleasing school environment
● Establish and manage classroom agreements and class community with the children
● Provide written lesson plan and reflection to Director and parents
● Integrate special needs children in a respectful manner.
● Scaffold children’s learning and help facilitate exploration
● Support children to see themselves as capable participants in their own education
● Support children to develop conflict management skills with one another
● Provide friendly supportive structure and boundaries without being punitive
● Possess an understanding of child development
● Capacity to identify challenges in the classroom or that individual children are having and to create a plan of support that will lead to success and to create a plan of support that will lead to success - Job Type
