MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

I'm an image

Keith Dickinson, CFP®,  CAC, RICP

The American Society of Ag Consultants is an organization whose success depends largely on the voluntary contributions of time and talents by its members. Members of our Board of Directors, Officers and Committees all volunteer time throughout the year to make this organization effective. As with any such organization, we depend on all members to contribute to have the most success. We have several opportunities for you to contribute your time and talents to ASAC. Most of these roles are a relatively ‘light lift’ requiring only an hour or two each month (or less). Please see the list of committees and vacant chair positions that are available. Please consider joining at least one committee, and even chairing a committee that’s in need of a chairperson. Please reach out to me at President@AgConsultants.org or to Jean Merry, Executive Director, at EVP@AgConsultants.org to join or for more information on any of the vacancies.

ASAC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Andrea Krahmer, Education Program Director for Oregon Agricultural Trust, joined ASAC in 2023 and participated in her first Annual Conference in November. She says that ASAC helps her grow as an ag consultant by offering many options for continuing education and networking opportunities.

The Oregon Ag Trust has been providing guidance to farmers and ranchers on Succession Planning and Working Lands Easements for four years. Andrea joined the team a year ago and has been working to expand these services.

She explains that Oregon Ag Trust is a state-wide non-profit working with farmers and ranchers to protect farm ground for perpetuity by way of working lands easements and helping shepherd the farmland and operation to the next generation or to a first-generation non-familial producer.

Andrea operates her own farm, primarily raising meat and dairy goats. She adds, "Both of my kids are very active in FFA and 4-H with their own livestock projects. In my spare time, I like to garden, work out with friends, craft and follow my kids to sporting events and livestock shows."

Ib Hagsten was a longtime member of ASAC who left a lasting legacy with our organization. It is impossible to replicate Ib's wit and down-to-earth observations. In his honor, we offer these words of wisdom...

Don’t worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.

Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.
