Habitat Protections Weakened Under Proposed Endangered Species Act Regulations

Newly proposed Endangered Species Act rules from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would substantially reduce habitat protections for at-risk wildlife. The changes would tighten the criteria for designating unoccupied areas as critical habitat. The proposals would also remove the automatic “blanket” protections that previously applied to all newly listed threatened species.

Missouri Prairie Foundation Purchases Newton County Prairie Remnant

Missouri Prairie Foundation (MPF) has acquired a 38.8-acre property containing 30 acres of old-growth remnant prairie and 8 acres of former cropland.
