Dear OSFAA Members & Colleagues,
As we wrap up Q1, our year is off to a great start, and we can feel the momentum. For OSFAA, that momentum is building toward one of our most exciting events of the year, our All-New Spring Expo on April 30th at The Foundry Social in Medina, Ohio.
This event is the perfect opportunity to experience firsthand what makes OSFAA such a strong association! It's also your chance to engage with fellow members and supplier companies to share information, learn from one another, and have a great time! |
|
|
We are bringing together an outstanding group of leading manufacturers, distributors, and service providers, all in one place, all focused on helping you stay ahead right here in Ohio. Whether you’re looking for new products, new partnerships, new solutions, or new ideas to grow your business, this is where those conversations happen.
In addition to the expo floor, we’ll also be offering a valuable educational session entitled "From Install to Income: Driving RMR Across Video, Access & Beyond," designed to deliver practical insights you can take back to your business right away. As always, our goal is to ensure that when you invest your time in an OSFAA event, you leave with real, tangible value.
Just as important as the technology and education, though, is the opportunity to connect. Events like this bring together professionals from across Ohio—people who understand your challenges, share your goals, and are navigating the same changes in our industry. Those conversations, those relationships, are what make our association stronger. I encourage you to make plans now to join us on Thursday, April 30th. Bring your team, come ready to learn, and take advantage of everything this event has to offer.
OSFAA continues to grow because of the engagement of our members—and events like the Spring Expo are where that engagement comes to life. I look forward to seeing you in Medina!
Sincerely, Keri-Ann Kalavity President, OSFAA

Legislative Action: Protect the 900 MHx Band |
|
|
The FCC is expected to make a decision soon on a proposal from NextNav that would take control of nearly 60% of the Lower 900 MHz band. This is the same spectrum that supports alarm, fire, and life safety communications across the country.
If approved, when deployed this high-power network could have serious consequences. Millions of devices that businesses and communities rely on every day for safety and protection may no longer function reliably.
Independent technical studies have already shown that this proposal could create harmful interference, compromise system performance, and force costly equipment replacements for companies like yours.
Now is the time to speak up! Take a minute to protect your business and your customers by sending a message directly to your legislators. It’s quick and easy! Please add a brief note about how this issue could impact your company or the people you serve. Personal stories make a powerful difference! |

The Power of Connection: Driving Value for OSFAA Members!
There’s something powerful about bringing the right people together at the right time, and that’s exactly what we’re focused on delivering for our OSFAA members.
As we look ahead to our Spring Expo on April 30th at The Foundry Social in Medina, I’m reminded of just how important these moments are. Not just for education or business development, but for real connection. When our members come together, ideas are shared, challenges are solved, and real growth happens. |

In March, we hosted the Members-Only Financial Benchmarking Session (recording access below), and the response was incredible. This wasn’t just another webinar, it was a meaningful, data-driven conversation about how our industry is performing, where opportunities exist, and how businesses can improve profitability and long-term success. The level of engagement, transparency, and collaboration was exactly what OSFAA is all about.
We are committed to delivering content and conversations you simply can’t get anywhere else. Now, we’re bringing that same energy into our Spring Expo. This event is designed to give you maximum value in a single day. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with leading manufacturers, distributors, and service providers, all focused on serving you and helping you stay competitive.
Beyond the agenda, what really makes this event matter is you—our members! Every conversation, every connection, every shared idea contributes to the strength of this association. That’s why we continue to invest in opportunities that bring you together, not just to learn, but to engage, collaborate, and grow. So we need you to attend! I encourage you to make plans now to join us on April 30th. Bring your team, come ready to connect, and take advantage of everything this event has to offer. I look forward to seeing you in Medina! Kind Regard, Shannon Few |

We were honored to have Spencer Rogers of Barnes Associates walk OSFAA members through key financial benchmarks that matter most to executive decision-makers. This session provided insight into cost structures, margins, labor efficiency, and overall financial health. Those that attended live gained perspective on how their organization compares to industry peers and how to leverage benchmarking data to support smarter strategic planning and growth decisions.
If you are an OSFAA member and missed this valuable session, please login to our website at www.SecureOhio.org where you can access the recording in the Members Only Resource Center. Need help logging in? Please contact Behrens Watkins on our team at Behrens.Watkins@SecureOhio.org. |
