Title: Neurodivergent Teens and Adults in Family Court

Our family courts are seeing more and more cases involving children who are neurodivergent and/or gender nonconforming, or who have neurodivergent or gender nonconforming parents. This program will provide the latest understanding of how these issues are competently addressed in a family law setting, including considerations for both physical and legal custody.

This comprehensive program covers all 8 hours of training required by California Rules of Court, Rule 5.24, to renew your status on the Minor’s Counsel panel, plus a bonus judge’s panel!  This year’s seminar will have presentations from Family Court Services, Child & Family Well Being (CFWB), and several local experts.  Other topics include the latest in privilege and testimonial issues, working with mental health providers, and working with special needs clients.  This year’s training will be in-person and completed all in one-day.  For those of you that cannot attend, a virtual option will be offered and a recording of select portions will be available for later viewing (Note: several presentations, including the judge’s panel, will only be available live though).  For those of you that are new applicants, the remaining 4 hours will also be available via recording on demand.

We will be providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
