Brewer Position Overview
Due to our continued growth, New River Brewing is looking to add an experienced brewer to its production team. Responsibilities will include a combination of brewing, cellaring, and packaging. Full time compensation includes competitive pay rate, health benefit (through the NC Brewers Guild cooperative), 401(k) matching and 12 days PTO. Salary will be based on candidate\'s experience.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to execute all hot side wort production duties including milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring on a manual 2 vessel 5-barrel system.
• Perform routine analytical tests throughout the brewing process in accordance with quality control standard operating procedures.
• Execute daily cellaring duties including but not limited to clean in place procedures, dry hopping, fruiting, transferring brite beer, carbonating brite beer, and kegging.
• Routine cleaning and maintenance of the brewhouse and cellar.
• Assist Head brewer with yeast management (Yeast cropping, cell counts, pitch rates, and generation tracking).
• Monitor fermentation data and make corrections based on critical control points.
• Work with all production employees to maintain raw ingredient and finished product inventories and FIFO procedures.
