Topic:  The CPA of the Future
Synopsis:

We live in an era of profound change and new strategies will be required to successfully
cope with this turbulent environment. Technology has made real time communications low
cost and almost universal. Geography is collapsing as a barrier to commerce.  Artificial
intelligence can do your taxes and keep the books. There is even speculation that block
chain transactions could well replace the need for required audits.

Demographics also drive change. The workplace is becoming dominated by individuals who
have grown up with digital technology as a fact of life. These “digital natives” have different
life experiences and different expectations than the “baby boomers” they are replacing in the
workforce.

In this presentation, Lee Frederiksen will explore emerging forces that are shaping the
environment that CPAs of the future will operate within. Lee will identify five emerging
market expectations that are likely to have the biggest impact on CPAs.
  • The commoditization of routine professional services.
  • The expectation of full transparency.
  • Specialized expertise is expected.
  • Expert advice is freely available.
  • A time pressured marketplace moves online
He will provide proven strategies that will provide a practical template for the CPA of the
future. What will the role of a CPA be in the future? How will CPA firms prosper in this new
environment? What can individuals and firms do now to “get ahead of the curve” and
prepare for the future?  A Q&A and discussion is included
