2019 Mentoring Circle
1/23/2019

Event Description
NELA NY is very pleased to announce the commencement of our Mentorship Program to promote opportunities for engagement among New Yorkers new to the plaintiff-side employment law practice.

Think back to your final year of law school, your Bar studies, and the learning curve you encountered during your first few years of practice. . .would you have benefited from the mentorship and guidance of a more experienced attorney? NELA NY has created its mentorship program to address the void in guidance many new lawyers experience.

Mentors must: be NELA NY members in good standing with the New York bar, who wish to engage and foster the next generation of New York plaintiff-side employment attorneys. Mentors must also have at least seven years of employment law experience. The commitment requires only one hour every other month. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please review the Guidelines and complete a Mentor Application Form. NELA NY thanks you for helping to nurture the next generation of plaintiff-side employment lawyers.

Mentees must: be NELA NY members in good standing with the New York bar, and interested in pursuing careers in plaintiff-side employment law. Mentees must have less than five years of employment law experience. If you are interested in becoming a mentee, please review the attached Guidelines and complete a Mentee Application Form.
The January 23, 2019 Mentoring Circle meeting will include introductory remakes by Mentorship Committee Chair Erica Sanders, followed by a group discussion on the importance/role of mentorship led by a special guest speaker.

Please contact Erica Sanders, Mentorship Committee Chair with any questions regarding this event at Erica.ruth.sanders@gmail.com.
