Overview of Webinar
The District of Columbia’s Stormwater Retention Credit (SRC) program helps to fund green infrastructure (GI) projects, driving private investment to the most vulnerable watersheds in Washington, DC. This first-of-its-kind market for stormwater runoff is built into the District’s regulations for major development projects, which allows developers to comply with stormwater management requirements off-site. Through the SRC Price Lock Program, and other incentives, the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) helps to encourage voluntarily-constructed GI projects, which produce SRCs.

Presenter Bio
Matthew Espie is an Environmental Protection Specialist with the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), where he is responsible for stormwater management incentive programs. In this capacity, Matthew manages the Stormwater Retention Credit (SRC) trading program, a first-of-its-kind market for stormwater runoff. Matthew also developed the Stormwater Database, which is used by the DOEE to implement, track, and report on the SRC program and other green infrastructure programs. Matthew received an MA in Environmental Policy from American University.
