Event Description
This dialogue is not about male-female as gender, sex or power -- it is about science -- and how male-female is the very basis of the Universe.

Male-female are like a magnet: they are two opposing polarities that are always connected, one cannot exist without the other. One is not superior to the other. Our challenge in life is to understand how they connect and coexist.

In human nature we can see these opposites as:  individuality vs community; rational vs intuitive; competition vs cooperation.

In Biology we see it as:

“An outstanding property of all life is the tendency to form multi-leveled structures of systems within systems. … cells combine to form tissues, tissues to form organs, and organs to form organisms. These in turn exist within social systems and ecosystems. … The double role of living systems as parts and wholes requires the interplay of two opposite tendencies: an integrative tendency to function as part of a larger whole, and a self-assertive, or self-organizing tendency to preserve its individual autonomy.”  (quote from “The Systems View of Life” by Fritjof Capra)

In business management, did you know that there is a field of practice called “polarity management”?  Polarities appear  frequently in the form of dilemmas, either-or situations, etc. By understanding how to handle them effectively, we can achieve surprising results such as simplifying complex situations without becoming simplistic.

Tanuja Prasad, invites you to discuss how polarities have appeared in your lives and how you have handled them. EWMD member, Tanuja Prasad, is an entrepreneur and information technologist from New York.
