SDFLBA Minor's Counsel REQUIRED Training

This comprehensive program covers all 8 hours of training required by California Rules of Court, Rule 5.24 for Minor's Counsel to renew your status on the Minor's Counsel panel. This year’s seminar will include these topics:
- a panel on Implicit Bias in Child Custody Cases – traps for Minor’s Counsel – being aware of your approach to your client. The panel will discuss issues of cultural and ethnic diversity and gender-specific issues.
- how much weight Minor’s Counsel should give to a child’s preference and what to do when you do not agree with your client. What exactly is in the best interests of the child?
- conjoint therapy will talk to us about conjoint therapy – does it really work the way we think it does?
