Welcome to the CMI’s Youth Rowing Registration for the 2019 Season and  Learn to Row programs!

CMI offers several options for youth summer rowing. Our 8-week season runs from Monday, June 24 through Thursday, August 15.  We row in 4-person boats, especially designed for ocean rowing in the waters off Cohasset.  The youth row as part of a crew that includes four rowers plus one experienced coxswain to steer the boat and coach the rowers, with scheduled rowing in two 1.5 hour designated time slots each week.  Sessions available this summer are:

  • Rising 8th/9th graders will have the option to choose from M & W 12:00-1:30 (SESSION FULL) or T & TH 12:00-1:30
  • Experienced rowers may choose from T & TH 2:00-3:30 or T & TH 3:30-5:00

Each session can have 20-23 rowers registered, so please register sooner to get your desired day/time selections.  Should we get overbooked, we will use our best efforts to open additional sessions based on availability of boats, timing and staff.

In case you just want to get a taste of rowing before committing to the full summer we have one TRY IT week. It will be offered four afternoons from 3:30-5 the week of June 17-20. If you decide to join for the summer season the TRY IT fee ($90) will be applied towards your full season membership.

Coaching Staff:  Coach John Liffmann directs our youth rowing programs and has played an active role in our youth on-the-water programs with CMI since its inception.  Together with John, we have a great staff of cox'n coaches that will make sure your kids not only learn how to row but have a fun time doing so!

CMI requires that each CMI Youth Rowing participant view the US Rowing Safety Video.  We ask that parent/guardians view this 27 minute video together with their youth rowing participants.

Important:  All registrants wishing to row this year will have to update their emergency contact information, accept CMI's Safety Policies and Waiver.  These will all be prompts during the registration process.  Should you wish to read the Safety Policy and/or Wavier ahead of time please click each here: Safety Policy        Waiver
