38th GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health
9/23/2020 - 9/26/2020

Event Description

About the GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health

GLMA’s Annual Conference is the premier, interdisciplinary LGBTQ health conference and the world’s largest scientific gathering devoted to LGBTQ health issues and concerns.

GLMA’s Annual Conference educates practitioners, policy advocates, educators, administrators, researchers and students—from across the health professions—about the unique health needs of LGBTQ individuals and families. The conference is a forum for discussion and exploration of how best to address these needs as well as the needs of LGBTQ health professionals and health profession students. GLMA’s Annual Conference also reports on research into the health needs of LGBTQ people.

The 8th GLMA Annual Nursing Summit:

The 2020 GLMA Nursing Summit is planned to take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
The goal of the GLMA Nursing Summit is to bring together LGBTQ and ally nurses and nurse supporters to further the GLMA Nursing Section Action Plan to improve critical LGBTQ issues in the nursing profession. The summit will provide a forum for mentorship, support, and networking for attendees in the areas of research, leadership, education and training, policy, climate, and patient care.

GLMA Moves 38th Annual Conference to a Virtual Platform:

Based on our monitoring of continued developments related to the current worldwide coronavirus pandemic and our concerns about the inability for all of us to travel and meet safely, GLMA has decided to move the 2020 GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health to a virtual platform.

While we will not have the opportunity to meet in-person this year, we are excited about the opportunity to present GLMA’s first-ever virtual Annual Conference. To that end, the GLMA Education Committee is working diligently to ensure the content presented continues to be of the highest scientific quality possible. With the exception of the change in platform, GLMA intends to maintain a similar schedule to our in-person Annual Conferences, starting with the GLMA Annual Nursing Summit on Wed, Sept 23, followed by the Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health from Thurs Sept 24 through Sat Sept 26.

Attendees can expect the same dynamic and diverse plenary, workshop, and research presentations, as well as opportunities for LGBTQ health professionals to network, connect and build community virtually.

Access instructions will be sent to registrants no later than 24 hours before the start of the GLMA Annual Nursing Summit and/or the GLMA Annual Conference.
