April 15, 2020 - 9:30am-11:30am: Successful tactics for your Certified Family Home - "Finding Balance amid the Behaviors & Calm in the Chaos"
Presented by Andy & Lindsey Crossman
Andy and Lindsey Crossman are the owners of Journeys DDA. They have been Certified Family Home providers for over a decade while raising a family, running a business, and (mostly) still keeping their sanity! Andy is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). As CFH providers, Andy and Lindsey have seen it all! They have helped clients transition to both independent and support living, receive end of life care, and overcome significant developmental and behavioral challenges. They train hundreds of staff and parents each year using proven behavior methods coupled with their unique experiences in a fun and useful way!
In this training, Andy and Lindsey will discuss:
How using a behavior analytic view will help you better understand and help your participant
How anxiety effects behavior, and what we as care providers can do to help
How to create small, meaningful changes in your participant
Why a positive approach will get better outcomes than punishment
How to find balance and avoid burn-out
April 15, 2020 - 12pm-2pm Certified Family Homes and Best Bookkeeping Practices Presented by Vickie Horn
Vickie Horn is a Developmental Specialist and Certified Family Home provider in Boise, Idaho, working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Along with her husband Shaun, she is also the co-owner of Valued Training Services. They offer CPR/First Aid certification courses, as well as training in behavioral management and redirection. They also offer trainings on a relevant topics to assist Certified Family Home providers in meeting their annual training requirements.
Vickie has a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Certification in Sensory Enriched Therapy, Certification in Positive Behavioral Supports, Certification in Understanding Mental Illness, to name a few.
In this training, Vickie will discuss:
Certified Family Homes rules and regulations
Training in records keeping
Preparing for recertification
Forms and filings
Registration opens March 2, 2020 and closes April 8, 2020 (or as space allows). Space is limited. Registration will be available for $20 per training or $30 for access to both trainings.
