4/18/2018 - 4/18/2018

Event Description

JTAC Presentation

Denver Water’s Pipeline Infrastructure

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Denver Water replaces water mains, some dating back to 1890.  In addition, they repair with the hope to avoid breaks, replace corroded pipe, alleviate water quality problems, increase available hydrant flow, and improve area delivery. Discover how and why Colorado’s oldest and largest water utility selects and replaces an average of 60,000 ft of pipe per year in an effort to maximize levels of service and minimize life cycle costs.

Speakers:  Garth Rygh and Cindy Marshall, Denver Water

Garth Rygh is the Director of Water Distribution at Denver Water. Garth, along with 200+ employees in the Water Distribution Section, is responsible for operating 18 pump stations and maintaining over 3,000 miles of pipe to meet the water needs of 1.4 million customers.

Cindy Marshall, P.E., is the Engineering Manager for Hydraulics at Denver Water. She oversees the planning of the pipe and reservoir network to meet the water needs of Denver metro area customers now and into the future.
