Six Utility Roundtable: Aligning Biogas Utilization with Community Goals

 Thursday, March 26th, 2020

Canceled - COVID -19 precaution - Refunds will be issued to those that already registered.

In the last decade six Colorado Utilities have put programs in place to best utilize the biogas produced in their wastewater treatment operations.  While there are many common elements to these types of projects, this roundtable presentation will focus on how the programs required customizing to align with critical community drivers.  The roundtable will include representation from the City of Grand Junction, the City of Longmont, the City of Boulder, Metro Wastewater, Colorado Springs Utilities, and South Platte Water Renewal Partners. The roundtable will not be a technical “nuts and bolts” presentation on equipment sizing and specification, but rather how biogas projects take shape in the shadow of community pressures.  A tour of the newly commissioned South Platte Water Renewal Partners Biogas to Pipeline Project will be hosted after the roundtable.
Presenters include:
  • Kurt Carson, Wastewater Services Manager, City of Grand Junction
  • Chris Douville, Coordinator of Wastewater Treatment, City of Boulder
  • John Gage, Civil Engineer, City of Longmont
  • Jamie Langer, Engineering Project Manager, South Platte Water Renewal Partners
  • Rahul Subramanian, Senior Project Engineer, Colorado Springs Utilities
  • Blair Wisdom, Wastewater Process Engineer, Metro Wastewater Reclamation District
