JTAC Presentation and Tour Aurora Binney Water Purification Facility Solids Dewatering Thursday, June 15th, 2017
Description: The Binney WPF recently underwent an upgrade to modernize their solids dewatering process. They converted solids handling lagoons to drying beds while installing a new gravity thickener, thickened solids pump station, and four gravity filters. We will give a brief overview of the project and then tour the upgraded solids dewatering process. Attendance is limited to 40 people, so be sure to sign up early! For walking around the facility, closed toe shoes and long pants are required.
Speaker: Jason Assouline has been an engineer with CH2M since 2004 where he has worked on a wide variety of water, reuse, and wastewater projects. He has been a part of the Prairie Waters Project team since the preliminary source water sampling and piloting and was involved in the Binney WPF from design through construction and startup. Most recently he was the process lead for the Binney solids optimization study and the design manager for the solids dewatering and filter expansion project. Jason is proud to continue to be a part of what is without a doubt one of the most sophisticated and well operated treatment facilities in the world. Kevin Linder, WPF Superintendent, with the City of Aurora will be facilitating the tour along with Jason.
