What will be discussed?
The job market seems to be tight (low unemployment) and competitive in the metro DC area. For the job seeker it can be considered an “employees’ market”, especially for CPAs. However, if you want to find the right fit vs. filling a role, come join us so you can walk away with a few if not many tips of what to do, or not to do, and understand your role in the hiring process too!

Whether a hiring professional or job seeker (or both), you may not want to miss out on attending this seminar where thought provoking questions will be discussed such as:

-Have you ever experienced something during hiring/the interview process that you would describe as “bad behavior”?
-As an employer, are you complying with all of the applicable employment related laws?
-As a job seeker, have you ever stopped to consider how your behavior may impact getting hired, promoted, fired, etc.?
-For both the employer and job seeker, do you realize how small the business community can be around here (e.g. people may call friends/peers they know at other firms/companies to inquire about you with or without your permission, etc.)?

If you join us in the discussion, you will learn (CPE objectives) about:
  • Understanding employment laws and how they may impact you
  • Hiring trends and tips that may help keep you ahead of future laws
  • Key steps you can take prior to expressing interest in a position that will help get you noticed and allow you to stand out from the crowd
  • Strategic aspects of talent acquisition that will allow businesses to not only secure top talent but ensure they retain them
  • Best practices to avoid potential employment related legal traps (during the hiring process and after), and more!
