Topic:  USING VISUALS TO DELIVER A PERSUASIVE MESSAGE

Crafting and delivering persuasive messages to support your organizations goals and initiatives can be
challenging. If you are communicating to support marketing, research, business development,
membership, fundraising or grassroots, state or federal advocacy, the right visuals can pack a real
punch.

Objective: Learn about strategies and tactics for developing persuasive messages through visual-centric communications.

           Kimberly Hudson is CEO and Visual Communication Strategist at Claritas Creative, a visual-centric agency in Arlington, VA. She has over a decade of experience leading         teams in visual communications and content creation for marketing, business development, strategic communications, and advocacy. At Claritas Creative, Kimberly and her         team focus on providing clear visual-centric solutions that engage, inform, and inspire. Claritas Creative supports associations, non-profits, corporations and government         agencies.
            Kim earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in applied media arts; graphic design from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Design from the         University of Baltimore. Prior to founding Claritas Creative, Kimberly served America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) as Deputy Director of Digital Media Strategy, the         leading health insurance trade association in Washington, D.C. for more than five years following the passage of the landmark Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
            She founded Claritas Creative Foundation a (501(c)3) in 2017 to formalize support for causes including support for women entrepreneurs, critically ill and premature         infants and their families, and supporting arts inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in public education. The foundation leverages         visual-centric communications for social change, creating a more equitable future.
            Kimberly also served as Vice President of the Parent Advisory Council that supports the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital         and recently led the development of “NICU Connect: A Visual Communications Toolkit for Caregivers of Infants Requiring Care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit”. Kim         serves as an ABLEnow ambassador, and is a member of the prestigious social university IVY, that unites rising leaders and introduces them to transformative people, ideas,         and experiences across the globe.
