October 16–18, 2026
El Prado Group Campground • Mount Laguna
Dear Volunteers—the time has come!
Volunteer registration is now open for the 2026 Mount Laguna Trail Fest, and we'd love to have you on the team that makes this incredible weekend possible.
Volunteer registration is limited to just 60 volunteers and typically fills quickly, so don't wait if you'd like to join us.
Every volunteer shift helps keep Trail Fest affordable while allowing more event proceeds to be invested back into the trails we all ride. Your time this weekend directly supports SDMBA's work building, maintaining, and advocating for trails across San Diego County.
Volunteer opportunities include registration and check-in, parking, information booth, guided ride support, opportunity drawing, Volunteer Snack Shack, event setup and cleanup, and plenty of other fun ways to help throughout the weekend.
We ask each volunteer to commit to at least two 4-hour shifts during the weekend. Many volunteers choose to help even more, and we'll coordinate schedules and assignments as we get closer to the event.
We encourage volunteers to stay for the entire weekend so there's plenty of time to ride, relax around camp, enjoy the evening festivities, and connect with fellow volunteers between shifts.
Single-day volunteers are welcome, but because parking is limited, we ask that you park remotely and ride or walk into El Prado Campground.
This registration collects your contact information, emergency contact, attendance dates, camping preferences (including optional Thursday, October 15 arrival), and required waiver.
Everyone registering through this page is expected to volunteer and must be at least 18 years old.
If someone attending with you is not volunteering, they'll need to register separately through the public Trail Fest registration.
Volunteers are asked to contribute $65 per person to help offset event expenses including permits, insurance, camping, portable restrooms, ice, and event operations.
Your volunteer registration includes:
Additional food will be available for purchase from on-site food trucks throughout the weekend, and volunteers are always welcome to bring and prepare their own meals at camp.
If the event is canceled by the U.S. Forest Service or SDMBA, volunteer registrations will be fully refunded.
Your registration includes group camping at El Prado Group Campground.
Prefer a little more privacy? A limited number of reserved campsites in Meadow Loop and Shady Loop are still available through a separate registration for an additional fee.

Parking inside El Prado is extremely limited.
Each vehicle entering El Prado Campground must purchase a $50 parking pass, so we strongly encourage everyone to carpool whenever possible.
Single-day volunteers should plan to park remotely and bike or walk into camp. Additional parking information will be provided before the event.
Mount Laguna Trail Fest is SDMBA's annual celebration of mountain biking, stewardship, and community.
Spend the weekend riding some of Southern California's best trails, checking out the vendor village, joining guided rides and bike demos, relaxing around camp, watching our Friday night movie under the stars, and enjoying live music and the Saturday night party with an incredible community of riders and volunteers.
Whether you're helping at registration, leading a ride, working the snack shack, or parking cars, you'll still have plenty of opportunities to ride, socialize, and enjoy everything Trail Fest has to offer.
More rides, activities, vendors, and special events will be announced as October approaches.
Some rides, clinics, and activities will require on-site sign-ups.
