Join the Quiet Adventures Society Board of Directors
The Quiet Adventures Society (formerly Quiet Water Society) has existed for over 30 years in pursuit of our mission: to educate the public and encourage participation in non-motorized outdoor recreation; to promote public concern and support environmental stewardship and conservation of natural resources of the Great Lakes region; to plan and execute annual and special events for any or all of these purposes.

Now is a critical time in shaping the future of the Society, a time to evaluate where we are and where we want to go. We have multiple vacant board positions available, and are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who have a broad range of experiences that will benefit the Society including:
  • Event Management
  • Financial Management (CPAs highly encouraged)
  • Fund Development
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Volunteer Organizing

The Board meets monthly for regular business, with additional meetings encouraged to further the planning efforts of the Symposium and to promote the Society to the public. Attendance at our Annual Quiet Adventures Symposium, usually the first Saturday in March, is expected. Meet our current Board of Directors to learn more about the team you may be joining. Under new leadership in 2026, priority will be focused on strategic planning for the future of the Society.
