MiALA Annual Conference Call for Breakout Session Proposals - Michigan Academic Library Association
MiALA invites you and your colleagues to submit presentation proposals at the 5th annual conference to be held May 14 & 15, 2020 at Ferris State University. Please consider sharing ideas on initiating and managing change, not just redefining and reevaluating, but growing from a place that is grounded in our strengths and aligned with community needs.

Participation from librarians, library staff, LIS students, and administrators from all types of academic libraries is encouraged.

Proposals will be accepted for the following presentation formats:

-Full Presentation (40 minutes)
-Panel Presentation (40 minutes)
-Moderated group discussions or mini-workshops (40 minutes)
-Mini-Presentations (20 minutes)

Along with presenter(s) information, program proposals must include title, presentation format, topic tags, abstract (up to 75 words), description (up to 300 words), learning objective(s), and intended audience (up to 25 words). Proposals will be evaluated on relevance to the conference theme, impact on academic libraries, originality, creativity, clarity, audience engagement, and applicability of content and outcomes.

***Note: No identifying information should appear within the abstract or description provided in the proposal, in order to ensure the impartiality of the blind review committee. If a proposal is a collaborative submission, all identifying information from all contributors must be excluded from the proposal.***

Presentations will be organized by topic and/or format, and will be scheduled to fill 45 minute blocks of time, including Q&A.

Program proposals will be accepted through Wednesday, December 11, 2019. The primary contact listed on submitted proposals will be contacted about the status of the proposed presentation by Saturday, January 11, 2020.

MiALA membership is not required to submit a proposal but at least one presenter/co-presenter must be a member (with dues paid) prior to the start of conference.

All proposals must be submitted using the online submission form by the deadline (December 11, 2019).
