Nominations for Board of Trustees closes April 16, 2019 at noon central time 

Nominations are being accepted online for three (3) positions for the May 1st elections. The UAA seeks nominations for 4 positions for the Board of Trustees: (1) President-elect, (1)  Educator Trustee from two or four- year college, (1) Educator Trustee from a two-year college, and (1) Corporate Member position.  Selected nominees will be placed on the ballot for the May election by the membership. Winners of the election will take their seats on the Board at the close of the annual conference on October 4, 2019.

Current requirements, restrictions, and qualifiers for nominees are as follows:


One position President-Elect
3-year position (1 year as President-Elect followed by 2 years as President)

At the time of the election, each person presented for candidacy for any office must have been an individual active voting member for at least the preceding two consecutive years and in good standing. Each person must be a faculty member or administrator at a college or university, which is an Institutional Member of the UAA, or a full-time employee of an organization, which is a Corporate Member of the UAA, as appropriate. Eligibility for the office of President-elect requires membership on the Board of Trustees or having chaired a UAA committee within five years prior to nomination.

Two positions Educator Trustee
3-year position (1) Educator Trustee from a 2 or 4-year institution and (1) Educator Trustee from a 2-year institution.

An Educator Trustee shall be a person who is an individual voting member in good standing in the professional or fellow membership categories and a faculty member or administrator at an institute, college or university, which is an Institutional Member of the UAA. No two Educator Trustees shall be from the same institution

One position Corporate Member Trustee
3-year position

A Corporate Trustee shall be a person who is an individual voting member in good standing in one of the appropriate membership categories listed herein and a full-time employee of an organization, which is a Corporate Member of the UAA. No two Corporate Trustees shall be from the same organization.
