Laboratory Technician 1

The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy in the at-will, F.L.S.A non-exempt, full-time position of Laboratory Technician 1 in the Public Works Department, Division of Water Pollution Control. Under general direction, performs work to provide the sampling and analysis necessary for determining the efficiency of the various processes of the wastewater treatment facilities, industrial discharges, and storm-water discharges. Occasionally on call 24 hours a day, weekends, holidays, and overtime in the necessary capacity to respond to sampling/analysis requirements and/or problems which may occur at departmental facilities. The Laboratory Technician 1 works 40 hours a week, 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. Work is of moderate difficulty and is reviewed for progress and conformance to established standards by the Laboratory & Technical Services Supervisor and/or his/her designee.

Applicants will be notified by letter of the test date for this position, where applicable. All completed applications must be directed to the Director of Human Resources/Risk Management, either via regular mail at 1 Friendship Plaza, Addison, Illinois 60101, emailed to voajobs@addison-il.org, or submitted personally to the Administration Department, Room 2100 of the Village Hall by no later than 5pm, October 13, 2023. Also, applications submitted after the deadline will NOT be accepted. Only one (1) application per person, per testing cycle is accepted.
